Investigate How to Launch a Group
Life Group Leaders are not necessarily …
• Bible scholars
• Gifted teachers
• Highly educated
• “Super-stud” Christians (see Acts 4:13)
Life Group Leader Qualifications
• Be an active member of Northeast Christian Church
• Live a life patterned after Scripture
• Possess a sincere love for God
• Possess a sincere love for people
• Complete the Life Group Leadership Development Process
The Life Group Leadership Development Process
We have developed a simple process for helping you become a Life Group Leader:
1.
Attend “Investigating Life Group Leadership.”
A half-hour ILGL meeting is offered numerous times throughout the year, or you can meet individually with Northeast Connect Minister Mike Mack. This brief meeting will help you explore the possibility of launching and leading a Life Group.
2.
Apply
. The ILGL Handout contains a “Life Group Ministry Commitment Packet” which includes an application form along with other brief forms for you to complete.
3.
Discuss
. Meet with the Connect Minister to talk about leading a group. This is not exactly an interview, but it is an opportunity for us to get to know you more, help you to do whatever you need to do to become a Life Group Leader, and to help you ascertain your next steps in the process. Because the Life Group Leader is in one of the most vital positions of leadership in our church, we want to take the time to talk with you before we approve you for Life Group Leadership. Often we can go out for a meal or coffee, and we’ll pay!
4.
Attend Basic Training
. Basic Training is an hour and a half class held at least once a month at convenient times (i.e., Sundays, 10:30-12:15; Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00). Basic Training will equip you for successfully launching and leading your Life Group.
5.
Commit
. At the end of Basic Training we ask that you commit to launching and leading your group.
