Northeast Cycling

This group started with two guys from Northeast Christian Church that wanted to start Mountain Biking more often. Although we really didn't know what we were doing at first, we continued on, meeting people from NECC and from outside the church. After 7 or 8 years, hundreds of miles on the trail and road, and road trips that include our third trip to Colorado we are going strong. We are all passionate about cycling, but it is the relationships and friendships we have built over these years that keeps us riding together. "It's all about the stories" as one member put it. Yes, the trails are great, the bike talk is great, the joking on each other is great. But, in the end it is all about the time we spend together and the stories we have about the good times and bad.

Join us on our next group ride. Mountain bike rides are scheduled several times a week. Road rides are planned less often at this time. (Most of us are mountain bikers who road ride for training and when trails are too wet.).

We mountain bike at Wilderness Trail/Seneca/Cherokee, Waverly, Capitol View, Briar Hill, Brown County, French Lick, and elsewhere in the region. We also occasionally take trips to other trails. We are a recreational group with a variety of riding levels, and we ride intermediate and advanced rides, with some technical sections, uphills, etc. We try to plan beginner rides a couple times a year for those just getting started. To ride, you will need a good mountain bike (we recommend mountain bikes from a bike store rather than a department store) and a helmet (required). You will also need water in a bottle or hydration pack.
